Nottingham Forest will be without midfielder Jack Colback for Wednesday night’s clash with Watford.
The summer signing was forced off with an ankle injury just before half-time of Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Swansea City, after being on the receiving end of a strong challenge.
He will miss the midweek game against the Hornets at the City Ground, as the Reds look to arrest a three-match losing streak.
“Jack will miss the game. At the moment he’s quite sore,” said boss Chris Hughton.
Fans' fears
Boss Chris Hughton has addressed concerns expressed by some fans that Nottingham Forest’s season is in danger of becoming a relegation battle.
After coming so close to the play-offs last term, it was hoped the Reds could build on that this time around and go a step further.
A miserable start of four league defeats, however, cost Sabri Lamouchi his job, while his replacement, Hughton, has picked up 12 points from his 10 games in charge.
Forest sit 21st in the table, two points above the drop zone, and on a three-match losing streak going into Wednesday night’s clash with third-placed Watford.
Forest's form
Michael Dawson has been in football long enough to know nothing is decided after 14 games of a season. But he is also astute enough to be aware Nottingham Forest need to improve - quickly.
A campaign which started with ambitions of going a step further than last term in the bid for a top six spot, has barely shifted into first gear.
There has already been a change in manager at the City Ground, with Sabri Lamouchi paying the price for four straight league defeats.
And while there have been some promising signs under his replacement, Chris Hughton, the Reds are stuck in 21st place.
Transfer verdict
Nottingham Forest can see the January transfer window on the horizon as they look to revitalise their poor season.
With the Reds 21st in the Championship, it is clear they have issues to tackle.
We discussed how the club should approach the transfer window on Monday's Garibaldi Red podcast with fans Peter Blackburn and Elliott Talbot.
