Nottingham Forest 'continue to price' Joe Lolley out of Aston Villa move

Nottingham Forest “continue to price out” Player of the Season Joe Lolley from any potential move to Aston Villa.

The Reds ace is said to be a target for Dean Smith’s newly-promoted side as they prepare for life back in the Premier League, with the suggestion last month that a £10m bid was being prepared.

Villa have already added to their squad this summer, bringing in Jota, Anwar El Ghazi and Wesley Moraes, following their play-off triumph over Derby County.

But it seems they could be prepared to splash the cash further, as Birmingham Live say the club “are far from done in the window and still require further options in the final third of the pitch”.

A report in the Daily Mail says, “Forest continue to price out Joe Lolley from a potential move to Villa Park”.

It is said that the Reds are sticking by their reported £15m valuation of the winger, who supported Villa as a boy - and the Express and Star claim it may "prove a difficult deal to complete".

Manager Martin O'Neill (Dan Westwell)

Lolley recently put pen to paper on a new deal at the City Ground, signing fresh terms until 2023 back in February.

He was in sparkling form for Martin O’Neill’s men in the campaign just gone, racking up 12 goals in 51 appearances, in all competitions.

Only last month he said he saw his future on the banks of the River Trent, saying: “I signed a deal in February.

"I signed that because I want to stay here, because I want to be here. I do not see that changing, to be honest.

“I know football is a crazy game in that respect. But yes, I see my future here and I don’t really see that changing.”
