Nottingham Forest have confirmed that young midfielder Jake Taylor has signed a new contract at the City Ground.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a new deal with the Reds, and will spend the remainder of the season on loan with League Two side Port Vale.
Taylor has spent the first half of the campaign with the Valiants, and will now continue his development by remaining at Vale Park until the end of the season.
So far this season, Taylor has made 24 appearances for Vale in all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing one assist for his team mates from midfield.
His performances have meant that Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi was keen to keep the youngster close to the club.
Taylor is currently sidelines with a knee injury that will halt his return until February, with the deal between Vale and Forest to keep him in Staffordshire was agreed last week.
"We have agreed in principle with Forest to keep him until the end of the season,” said Vale manager Josh Askey last week .
"With him doing well then Forest have seen that and now feel there is a real value to him. But this is the best we could have got, other than getting him permanently, is to keep him until the end of the season.
"We didn't want to lose him completely because he has done well. It doesn't look great if we'd lost him but sometimes there's nothing you can do. If another club club comes in and offers ridiculous money then there is not a lot you can do. But it shows how well he has done that Forest want to keep him.
"It has worked well for Jake, Forest and ourselves."
