Nottingham Forest have confirmed Ryan Yates has penned a new long-term deal with the club.
The midfielder has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal which will keep him at the City Ground until 2023.
It comes on the back of fellow Nigel Doughty Academy product Matty Cash also agreeing fresh terms last week, as the Reds look to secure the futures of their rising young stars.
Yates has been restricted to four appearances so far this season, having undergone surgery in the summer after a long-standing knee problem flared up when he returned for pre-season training.
He made his comeback in October, coming off the bench in the 2-1 defeat at home to Hull City.
Since then, he has featured against Luton Town, Derby County and Bristol City, with a red card picked up in the latter leaving him to serve a three-match suspension.
It means he will miss this week’s clash against the Lions, but will be back in contention to face Middlesbrough next Tuesday night.
