Nottingham Forest complete deadline day transfer deal

Nottingham Forest have sold Jordan Gabriel.

The Reds are believed to have received a fee of £700,000 from Blackpool for the 22-year-old defender as he makes the switch from the City Ground to Bloomfield Road.

Gabriel spent last season on loan with Blackpool, helping them win promotion to the Championship via the League One play-offs.

He had started four of Forest's opening five matches in the Championship so far this season.

Sunderland were also said to have shown an interest in the full-back.

"Jordan Gabriel has joined Blackpool on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee," said Forest.

"The right back rejoins The Seasiders where he spent a successful loan spell last season during which Blackpool were promoted to the Championship.

"Gabriel joined The Reds’ Academy in 2015 and also enjoyed a loan spell at Scunthorpe in 2019. He played in four league matches this season for Forest.

"The club would like to thank Jordan for his service to the club and wish him the very best with his career."
