Nottingham Forest are said to be closing in on a deal to sign 21-year-old attacking midfielder Ilyas El Khabchi, according to TEAMtalk.
The Frenchman, who was spotted by Reds scouts playing for French fifth tier side Jura Dolois, has been on trial with the club's under-23s and is said to have impressed his fellow countryman Sabri Lamouchi enough to earn a one-year deal on Trentside.
The report claims that City Ground bosses are looking to land the player's signature before he can be lured away for a trial elsewhere.
Should Forest land the 5ft8 youngster, he would immediately enter the club's ranks at Under-23s level where Lamouchi will then hope to see him push for a role with the first team group.
El Khabachi started his career with Evian before moving to join semi-professional side Jura Dolois in 2017.
He would become Sabri Lamouchi's eighth permanent signing since taking charge in June.
