Nottingham Forest 'close' to tying up deal for former Derby County defender

Nottingham Forest are on the brink of signing former Derby County defender Cyrus Christie.

The BBC are reporting that the Fulham right-back could complete his move to the City Ground before the weekend, when the Reds hosts Cardiff City.

Christie helped Fulham secure promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs last season, but Scott Parker’s side are now prepared let the 28-year-old leave Craven Cottage.

Christie spent three years at Pride Park between 2014 and 2017, making more than 100 appearances for the Rams.

He then spent six months with Middlesbrough before joining Fulham for an undisclosed fee in January 2018.

Christie played for Coventry and non-league pair Nuneaton Town and Hinckley United earlier in his career.
