Nottingham Forest chairman writes heartwarming letter to NHS heroes

Nottingham Forest chairman Nicholas Randall Q.C. has thanked local NHS staff for their “amazing efforts” amid the coronavirus outbreak.

And he says the club are willing to help “in any way we can”, offering resources and use of the City Ground stadium during the pandemic.

Randall has written to the QMC and City Hospital, conveying the Reds’ support and expressing gratitude.

His letter reads: “First, on behalf of our owner, Mr Evangelos Marinakis, and everyone at Nottingham Forest Football Club, I would like to thank you all at the NHS for your amazing efforts during these unprecedented times.

“Your commitment and devotion to support our community is truly humbling for us all. You are an inspiration to us all and we will be forever in your debt.

Nottingham Forest would like to offer any assistance we can to you during these challenging times.

“I appreciate that there are no easy options but if there is anything that we can do, whether through our administrative resources, stadium facilities or anything we can do to provide support for the staff from time to time please let us know.

“We would love to assist in any way we can.

“We have an active audience of over half-a-million people through our communication channels and we are regularly sharing important messages from the NHS and the government.

“In addition to this we continue to share daily appreciation posts for the key workers across our social media.

“If we can help in any way, big or small, then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me.

“Again, on behalf of everyone at Nottingham Forest, thank you.”

It is signed “with kind regards” by Randall.

Forest have been keen to play a part in the community during the current, difficult climate.

In recent days, they have donated carrier bags and food containers to local homeless charity Framework, to help them distribute food and essentials items to homeless hostels around the city.

They have also passed on Easter eggs and mugs to food bank charity Hope Nottingham and have been in touch with a number of local authorities to offer assistance.
