Nottingham Forest break unwanted Premier League record amid double injury blow

Nottingham Forest suffered two injuries in the first minutes of their Premier League clash with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Steve Cooper was forced into a double substitution in the seventh minute of the game after Willy Boly and Scott McKenna went down injured early on.

Boly pulled up in the fifth minute after chasing a ball, and McKenna required treatment around the same time. The two central defenders were replaced by Joe Worrall and new signing Felipe for his first appearance for the Reds.

According to Opta, it is the earliest any side has ever subbed off two starters in a Premier League game. Afterwards Cooper revealed that both men hurt their hamstrings.

"I've never seen it happen before and I hope I don't see it again that's for sure," he said. "The lads who came on did well but it took two attacking changes away in the second half which we would have done.

"Of course, you have to deal with it and the injuries looked pretty serious - fingers crossed it won't be too long."

Former Wolves centre-back Boly suffered an ankle injury only last month during the EFL Cup meeting with his former side, which Forest won on penalties. He recovered quickly to face Bournemouth in the league 10 days later.

Willian opened the scoring in Saturday's game to put Fulham ahead, the Brazilian winger cut in on his left before curling the ball into the top corner. Manor Solomon scored in the second half to put the game beyond doubt in the second half.
