Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names team to face Leicester City

Head coach Steve Cooper has named his Nottingham Forest team to face Leicester City for this evening's crunch Premier League clash.

The Reds will be out to halt a run of four successive defeats when they take on the Foxes at the King Power Stadium. They fell 3-2 to Fulham last time out, leaving them second-bottom in the table ahead of tonight's match.

Cooper was afforded valuable time on the training pitch with some of his players during the fortnight's international break. But he was left with a few injury concerns for the trip to the King Power Stadium.

Scott McKenna picked up a knee strain while on duty with Scotland, while Morgan Gibbs-White withdrew from England Under-21 duty. Both get the green light to make the starting XI this evening, however.

Cooper makes three changes to the team which lost to the Cottagers at the City Ground last month. Cheikhou Kouyate, Lewis O’Brien and Jesse Lingard come in for Willy Boly, Ryan Yates and Remo Freuler.

Kouyate looks set to start in a back three, alongside Steve Cook and McKenna, in front of goalkeeper Dean Henderson. In what looks like being a 3-5-2 formation, O’Brien and Lingard will link up with Gibbs-White in the centre of the pitch, with Neco Williams and Renan Lodi on the two flanks.

Up front, Cooper sticks with Brennan Johnson and Taiwo Awoniyi. There is a return, on the bench, for Orel Mangala, having been sidelined with injury, while Serge Aurier is also among the substitutes for the first time. Wayne Hennessey, Worrall, Yates, Sam Surridge, Freuler, Boly and Emmanuel Dennis make up the bench.

Forest: Henderson; Kouyate, Cook, McKenna; Williams, O’Brien, Gibbs-White, Lingard, Lodi; Johnson, Awoniyi. Subs: Hennessey, Worrall, Mangala, Surridge, Yates, Freuler, Aurier, Dennis, Boly.
