Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Sheffield United - with a surprise tweak

Steve Cooper makes two changes to his Nottingham Forest team as they host Sheffield United under the City Ground lights this evening.

The Reds go into the midweek Championship clash looking to get back to winning ways on home turf.

Last time out on the banks of the Trent they were toppled 4-0 by high-flying Fulham, but bounced back with a dramatic 1-1 draw at QPR last Friday night.

Jack Colback’s late leveller rescued a well-earned point for Forest at Loftus Road as the midfielder struck in stoppage time, finding the net for the first time in more than two years.

Boss Cooper makes two tweaks to the side which started against Rangers, with loan defender Max Lowe ineligible to play against his parent club.

Stepping into the left wing-back role in his place is Colback, who has played at left-back before, earlier in his career.

It means James Garner comes into the midfield, while Lyle Taylor is preferred to Lewis Grabban up front.

Cooper looks to be sticking with a 3-4-3 formation, as Joe Worrall, Tobias Figueiredo and Scott McKenna make up the back line ahead of goalkeeper Brice Samba.

With Colback on the left, Djed Spence continues at right wing-back, while Garner looks set to partner Ryan Yates in the centre of the pitch.

Taylor is supported by Joe Lolley and Brennan Johnson in the attacking trio.

There is a return to the matchday squad for Joao Carvalho, who joins Grabban, Ethan Horvath, Alex Mighten, Braian Ojeda, Gaetan Bong and Philip Zinckernagel on the bench.

Forest: Samba, Worrall, Figueiredo, McKenna, Spence, Yates, Garner, Colback, Johnson, Taylor, Lolley. Subs: Horvath, Grabban, Carvalho, Zinckernagel, Bong, Mighten, Ojeda.
