Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names team to face Preston North End - with surprise twist

Steve Cooper makes four changes to his Nottingham Forest team as they host Preston North End at the City Ground.

The Reds are looking to sign off for the international break in style as they aim to end a run of three games without a win when they face the Lilywhites.

They have registered back-to-back 1-1 draws, having come from behind to snatch a point with late goals on both occasions.

On Tuesday night, it was Lewis Grabban who found the net in the fightback against Sheffield United, while Jack Colback did the same at QPR in the previous outing.

Colback was required to fill in at left wing-back in midweek, due to Max Lowe being ineligible to feature against his parent club.

But Lowe returns this afternoon, while Philip Zinckernagel, Lewis Grabban and Alex Mighten also come into the team - for what looks to be a switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Lyle Taylor, James Garner, Joe Lolley and Tobias Figueiredo all drop to the bench.

Joe Worrall and Scott McKenna are the centre-back partnership, ahead of goalkeeper Brice Samba, with Lowe at left-back and Djed Spence on the right.

Colback moves back into his more familiar role in the middle of the pitch, partnering Ryan Yates.

Mighten and Zinckernagel join Brennan Johnson in providing support for front man Grabban.

On the bench, Taylor, Lolley, Figueiredo and Garner are joined by Ethan Horvath, Gaetan Bong and Braian Ojeda.

The Reds are 17th in the Championship table ahead of kick-off, having lost just once in Cooper's eight games in charge.

Forest: Samba; Spence, Worrall, McKenna, Lowe; Colback, Yates; Zinckernagel, Johnson, Mighten; Grabban. Subs: Horvath, Bong, Figueiredo, Ojeda, Garner, Lolley, Taylor.
