Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Peterborough United

Head coach Steve Cooper names an unchanged Nottingham Forest starting line-up for this afternoon’s clash with Peterborough United.

The Reds could potentially guarantee a top-six finish today, if they take three points and other results go their way. They will come up against a Posh side fighting for survival at the bottom end of the table, though.

Forest go into the game on the back of Monday’s 4-0 thumping of West Bromwich Albion. Ahead of kick-off at London Road they are fifth in the table, seven points below second-placed Bournemouth and with a five-point cushion over Millwall, in seventh.

Centre-back Steve Cook made his return from injury against the Baggies, coming off the bench at the City Ground. And striker Lewis Grabban is available again after missing that clash due to illness.

But Cooper opts to stick with a winning team as he looks to build momentum at the business end of the season. It means the Reds keep a back-three of Joe Worrall, Tobias Figueiredo and Scott McKenna ahead of goalkeeper Brice Samba.

Djed Spence and Jack Colback, fresh from his incredible goal on Monday night, once again take up the wing-back spots. And Ryan Yates and James Garner keep their places in the centre of the pitch.

Sam Surridge also got on the scoresheet earlier in the week, and he retains his spot up front despite Grabban’s return. The January signing is supported by Philip Zinckernagel and Brennan Johnson.

Richie Laryea made his debut in the Garibaldi as a substitute against Albion. He is on the bench again this afternoon, along with Grabban, Cook, Ethan Horvath, Cafu, Alex Mighten and Joe Lolley.

Forest: Samba; Worrall, Figueiredo, McKenna; Spence, Yates, Garner, Colback; Zinckernagel; Johnson, Surridge. Subs: Horvath, Laryea, Mighten, Cafu, Grabban, Lolley, Cook.
