Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper names his team to face Bristol City

James Garner returns to the starting line-up as Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper makes just the one change to his team.

The Reds face Bristol City at Ashton Gate this evening looking to maintain their impressive unbeaten run in the Championship.

Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Blackpool made it three wins in a row for Forest, and five games without defeat - a sequence which has lifted them to 16th in the table ahead of kick-off against the Robins.

And despite the quick turnaround from the weekend - as well as another match to come on Sunday - Cooper has largely stuck with the same XI which triumphed at the City Ground.

Manchester United loanee Garner has started the last two fixtures on the bench, but is recalled to the side at the expense of Jack Colback this time around.

It is as you were at the back, with the Reds set to stick with the 3-4-3 system which has served them well of late.

Joe Worrall, Tobias Figueiredo and Scott McKenna make up the three-man defence, ahead of goalkeeper Brice Samba.

Garner slots in alongside Ryan Yates in the centre of the pitch, with Djed Spence and Max Lowe once again taking up the wing-back roles.

And in attack, Lewis Grabban will be looking to continue his red-hot streak of goalscoring form, having bagged five in his last seven appearances.

He is supported by Brennan Johnson and Philip Zinckernagel in the forward trio.

In addition to Colback, Ethan Horvath, Joao Carvalho, Gaetan Bong, Alex Mighten, Joe Lolley and Lyle Taylor make up the bench.

Forest take on a Robins side which has not won at home since January - a run which stretches to 16 games from the back end of last season to the current campaign.

Forest: Samba, Figueiredo, Worrall, McKenna, Spence, Yates, Garner, Lowe, Zinckernagel, Grabban, Johnson. Subs: Horvath, Carvalho, Bong, Mighten, Lolley, Taylor, Colback.
