Nottingham Forest boss speaks out on Matty Cash's future amid West Ham transfer links

Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi has said that Matty Cash is not affected by transfer speculation, amid links with a move to West Ham United.

The versatile midfielder, who can also play at full-back, has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League, with West Ham and Southampton both among the potential suitors for the 23-year-old.

But he was involved last night as Nottingham Forest defeated promotion rivals Brentford 1-0 at Griffin Park, with Cash making his 31st appearance of the campaign for the Championship side.

And Forest boss Lamouchi has suggested that Cash is happy at the City Ground, having signed a long-term contract with the club last year.

“No, because he is playing well. He is doing well,” said Lamouchi earlier this week, as quoted by the Nottingham Post.

“Cashy is happy. Cashy is from Forest. He is a Forest player.

“I trust him 100 per cent, I don’t have any problem with that.

“The speculation probably affects other people, but not the manager, the team or the players.”

The Hammers are hoping to complete a deal to sign Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek, with West Ham boss David Moyes confirming yesterday that he was having a medical with the club.

Moyes also confirmed that West Ham had a bid in for another player ahead of the January transfer window deadline, but said that was not Cash.
