Nottingham Forest boss sets out clear transfer stance as speculation resurfaces about midfielder

Transfer stance

Sabri Lamouchi has reiterated his desire to hang on to Joe Worrall amid continued speculation about the Nottingham Forest defender’s future.

The Reds head coach is keen to trim his squad after making 11 summer signings so far, with a number of fringe players free to move on.

But Lamouchi wants to keep his “best players” as his team look to get their first points on the board at Huddersfield Town on Friday night.

The arrival of Scott McKenna on Wednesday led to concern among some fans it could mean a departure for Worrall, given Burnley remain interested and Forest have a number of centre-backs on their books.

New kit

Nottingham Forest have released their third kit for the 2020/21 season - and it seems to have gone down well with supporters.

The Reds unveiled the shirt on social media, and it got a big thumbs up from many fans.

Forest say: “The crewneck shirt features a grey camo pattern and the club would like to thank both Football Index and UK Meds for embracing the design by changing the colour of their logos and giving the shirt a bright orange trim.

“The birth date of Nottingham Forest – ‘est. 1865’ – is embroidered on the outside back collar, with the Macron Hero embroidered on the right of the chest, and the Nottingham Forest crest embroidered over the heart.

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is keen to cut his squad before the transfer window closes, having seen an influx of players this summer.

Eleven new signings have come through the door so far, with relatively few heading in the opposite direction.

Matty Cash has been the most notable departure - the right-back having made the move to Aston Villa and made his Premier League debut earlier this week.

It led academy chief Gary Brazil to speak of his “pride” as Cash came up against fellow ex-Reds youngsters Ben Osborn and Oliver Burke in Villa’s victory over Sheffield United.

And with that in mind, we’ve taken a look at how the players who left the City Ground this summer are getting on.

Silva speculation

Tiago Silva's future at Nottingham Forest is at the centre of more speculation after a report claimed that a move to Olympiakos will happen at the end of the month.

Siliva has been linked with PAE for most of the summer, the club which is also owned by current Reds supremo Evangelos Marinakis.

And SDNA claim that the move is now likely to happen on September 30, a day after they are scheduled to face Omonia.

Speculation about Silva has continued given he has not featured for the Reds this season in what has been a poor start from Lamouchi's side.
