Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi set to appoint new assistant manager in backroom reshuffle

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is set to add a fourth assistant coach to his backroom team at the City Ground.

The Frenchman is currently in talks with former Morocco defender Ahmed Kantari, according to L'Equipe, with a view to adding him to his ranks ahead of the new Championship season.

The 35-year-old, who started his career with Paris Saint Germain spent the majority of his career playing in France, winning 16 international caps along the way.

And as an experienced centre-back, Lamouchi will be hoping that he can add some defensive resilience to his side.

Kantari spent last term working under boss Olivier Guegan at Ligue 2 side Valenciennes in his first coaching role since his retirement twelve months ago.

Lamouchi already has three assistant managers on Trentside heading into the new campaign.

Bruno Baltazar, David Barriac and Jean-Paul Ancian all remain in their roles alongside Goalkeeping coach Ian Bennett.

Forest meanwhile have less than four weeks to go until their Championship campaign gets underway.

But they will learn their first opponents of the season this morning with the Carabao Cup draw set to take place at 10am.
