Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi provides injury update ahead of Brentford clash

Nottingham Forest defender Michael Dawson is expected to return from a calf injury after the international break.

The 35-year-old had been an ever-present in the league this season prior to being forced off at Stoke City last week.

He missed the 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers on Tuesday night and has been ruled out of Saturday’s clash at home to Brentford.

But boss Sabri Lamouchi hopes Dawson, who has just become a father for the second time, will be available for the trip to Wigan Athletic in a fortnight’s time.

“He will be with us for Wigan, not before,” Lamouchi said.

“I just want to congratulate him because he has become a dad for the second time, so after the bad news comes the good news.

“But he will be back.

“Michael is a very good professional and a very good example for everyone.

“I’m not worried about Michael because he’s very professional, and I’m not worried about playing without him because they are all ready to play, and they all deserve to play.”

Tobias Figueiredo replaced Dawson alongside Joe Worrall in the heart of the defence at Ewood Park, while Chema came off the bench to step in against the Potters.

The Reds take to the City Ground pitch this weekend on a nine-match unbeaten streak in the Championship and Lamouchi hopes to have Rafa Mir (leg) available as a back-up striker for Lewis Grabban.

Ryan Yates is also close to a comeback following knee surgery and could return after the international break, along with fellow midfielder Alfa Semedo (back).

“Rafa will be back, I hope. We have a training session tomorrow,” Lamouchi said, ahead of facing Brentford.

“Ryan Yates will be back, for sure, during the international break. Yesterday and today, he had a great session, so he will be with us very soon.

“Alfa is still out.

“Before the international break it would be stupid to take a risk with him.

“He is an important player for us, a very important player - someone with huge, huge potential.

“He needs to take care of himself and to come back soon 100 percent to help the team.”
