Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi 'in talks' with former Rennes goalkeeper

New Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi is said to have sounded out goalkeeper Abdoulaye Diallo about a move to the City Ground.

The pair worked together at Rennes, with Diallo now a free agent after his contract with the French club expired.

It is understood the Reds still expect to complete the loan signing of Manchester City shot-stopper Arijanet Muric, who they had been chasing when Martin O’Neill was still at the helm.

But reports in France say Lamouchi has held talks with Diallo as he looks to put his stamp on the Forest squad.

Turkish side Genclerbirligi have already announced the 27-year-old’s arrival, saying they have reached an agreement on a two-year deal and that he will join the club after the Africa Cup of Nations, where he is on duty with Senegal.

Diallo is also said to have received offers to stay in France, from Caen and Dijon.

However, Get French Football News claim: “Contrary to reports in Turkey, the 27-year-old Senegalese international has not yet signed for Genclerbirligi Spor Kulubu, who are however in talks to sign him.”

They add: “The goalkeeper will not make a decision on his future until after AFCON.”

Diallo made nine appearances for Rennes last season and had been with the club for 10 years before his contract ran out.
