Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi gives injury update on Samba Sow after Brentford win

Nottingham Forest are hopeful midfielder Samba Sow will not be sidelined for too long after being forced off through injury during the 1-0 victory over Brentford.

The 30-year-old has been a key player for the Reds since making the move to the City Ground in the summer.

But he limped off with a hamstring problem in the 78th minute against the Bees at the City Ground, being replaced by Albert Adomah.

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi says the player will go for a scan to discover the extent of the injury next week, but with a fortnight’s respite due to the international break he hopes Sow will quickly be back in action.

“Maybe we will lose him for a bit, so fortunately we have the international break,” Lamouchi said.

“We will make an appointment for him on Tuesday or Wednesday to have an MRI.

“He is an important player for us and we need to know for how long we will lose him.

“It was his hamstring; it was just tight because the rhythm is so high and there are a lot of games. He has played a lot, like the others.

“But I am so impressed with what the players have done.”

Forest made it 10 Championship games unbeaten as Ben Watson’s goal clinched three points against the Bees.

They sit joint-top in the table, level on points with West Bromwich Albion, the only team to have beaten them in the Championship.
