Transfer talk

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi has dismissed speculation linking free agent striker Diafra Sakho with a January move to Nottingham Forest.

The 30-year-old former West Ham United man is without a club having been released from his contract six months early at French club Rennes, where he had previously worked with Lamouchi.

It was reported in The Sun that he was on the Reds’ radar as they look to bolster their attacking options to aid their promotion push.

But asked whether Sakho was a possible target, Lamouchi said: “No, I don’t think so.”

Lamouchi’s men had a penalty decision overturned in the first half, when the score was still 1-0 thanks to Callum Hudson-Odoi’s opener.

Referee Peter Bankes had pointed to the spot after Alex Mighten - on his full debut - was brought down by Fikayo Tomori. But VAR ruled no penalty, with the 17-year-old’s arm judged to be offside.

The Blues boss, so successful as a player in the world’s oldest cup competition got his first taste of it as manager of the Stamford Bridge club on Sunday afternoon.

Despite a strong opening few minutes, Sabri Lamouchi’s men found themselves a goal down seven minutes in when Callum Hudson-Odoi thumped in the net outlining the quality of the Blues' starting XI.

Forest were then awarded a penalty when referee Peter Bankes decided former Derby man Fikayo Tomori fouled full debutant Alex Mighten.

Striker latest

Nottingham Forest look set for disappointment in their pursuit of Che Adams after it was made clear he is going nowhere this month.

The Reds and Leeds United are understood to be interesting in a loan deal for the Southampton striker until the end of the season.

However, Saints boss Ralph Hassenhuttl insists he will not let the player go, despite his disappointment at struggling to get in the side regularly.

That is because he has Danny Ings, Shane Long and Michael Obafemi as his only other options through the middle.
