Exits likely
Head coach Sabri Lamouchi has admitted loan duo Arijanet Muric and Rafa Mir are likely to end their time at Nottingham Forest early.
The pair have not featured in the Reds matchday squad of late, and look set to return to parent clubs Manchester City and Wolverhampton Wanderers respectively.
Both had joined on season-long loans in the summer, but have struggled to make a positive impact in their time at the City Ground.
Asked if they might depart now the January transfer window is open, Lamouchi said: “Probably, yes."
Injury update
Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi hopes Yuri Ribeiro will be fit to face Chelsea, after losing fellow defender Chema to injury.
The latter was forced off after 27 minutes of the Reds’ New Year’s Day 3-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers at the City Ground.
He had been struggling with a hip problem in the previous game, against Wigan Athletic, and departed down the tunnel after being replaced by Jack Robinson at left-back.
But while Chema seems likely to miss Sunday’s trip to Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup, Ribeiro could return from a knee problem which has kept him out since November.
Linked with move
Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Birmingham City talisman Lukas Jutkiewicz.
The Reds are looking to bolster their promotion push in January with The Athletic saying Jutkiewicz is on their shortlist, as well as another player with Birmingham links in Che Adams.
Dwight Gayle and Glenn Murray are other contenders for the Reds as they seek support for top scorer Lewis Grabban with Rafa Mir looking likely to return to Wolves this month.
Jutkiewicz remains a hugely popular figure at St Andrew's having scored eight goals in 26 appearances this season.
Transfer talk
Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has confirmed that he's leaving Leeds United and returning to the Emirates Stadium.
The talented 20-year-old striker has been linked with a move to the Whites' Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, and despite starting Leeds' 1-1 draw at West Brom on New Year's Day, the Gunners have opted to recall him with a view to sending out elsewhere.
Nketiah netted five times for Marcelo Bielsa's Whites during his loan spell at Elland Road, but the Argentine tactician prefers ex-Reds man Patrick Bamford in attack, with him coming off the bench to salvage a draw at the Hawthorns.
Lamouchi's Forest, who moved fourth in the Championship with a 3-2 win over Blackburn on Wednesday courtesy of a Lewis Grabban brace and Joe Lolley's curling effort, are one of a number of Championship clubs believed to be monitoring his situation, along with Bristol City.
