Nottingham Forest boss praises 'wonderful' display as Reds claim important win

Nottingham Forest manager Chris Hughton hailed Ryan Yates’ “wonderful” performance after his goal sealed victory at Rotherham.

The midfielder pounced in the second half to seal a 1-0 victory at the New York Stadium which earned the Reds a second successive Championship win.

It capped off a wonderful display from the academy graduate on a night when Forest had to demonstrate their battling qualities to seal the win.

And Hughton was full of praise for his contribution as Forest moved 10 points clear of the bottom three.

Nottingham Forest clinched back-to-back wins as they beat Rotherham United 1-0 thanks to Ryan Yates' second half goal.

The Reds were forced to battle and rode their luck at times, but came through  to clinch the three points.

Nottingham Forest clinched another big three points as they beat Rotherham United 1-0.

And Reds fans have taken to social media to celebrate the result.

Ryan Yates’ second half strike proved to be the difference between the two sides, although the visitors did have to ride their luck.

But they battled hard throughout and came through to make it back-to-back wins, having toppled Blackburn Rovers by the same scoreline at the weekend.

Since his switch to the City Ground, goalkeeper Brice Samba has quickly earned the affection of Nottingham Forest fans.

Not least because of a tendency to wind up the opposition.

And a video clip of the seconds ticking down as Samba has possession of the ball in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Blackburn Rovers has gone down a storm on social media.

In it, the Reds stopper is preparing to take a kick as the Reds lead in stoppage time at the City Ground.
