Nottingham Forest boss has his say on Albert Adomah's Cardiff City situation

Albert Adomah is set to return to Nottingham Forest this week as his loan at Cardiff City expires.

The winger has been with the Bluebirds since January, but will see his time in Wales come to an end after tonight’s match against Charlton Athletic.

Adomah’s deal with Cardiff runs out today and has not been extended to cover the remainder of the extended season - which will run beyond this month due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Reds have opted to bring him back, although he will not be permitted to play in the final seven games for Sabri Lamouchi’s side.

“I like the player and I like the man,” Lamouchi said, ahead of his team’s clash with Bristol City on Wednesday night.

“In January, he moved to Cardiff. I don’t know if it was a good decision or not, but it’s done.

“He had a contract with the club. The club decided to call him back. I am behind the club. They are right.

“I have a game to prepare for.”

Adomah has impressed during his time with City, making eight appearances in the Championship.

Prior to his switch, he had largely been restricted to a substitutes’ role for Forest, coming off the bench 19 times in his 27 run-outs.

Cardiff boss Neil Harris has expressed his frustration at the English Football League for allowing the situation to happen.

"I spoke to Nottingham Forest myself to understand their thinking and took their reasons on board,” he has said.

"Ultimately, they want to be promoted. I understand their club perspective, but I can’t understand at all how the EFL have got themselves into this situation and let it develop.

"It is a complete lack of leadership and ownership, a complete lack of guidance from them. It is a disgrace. I couldn’t be more fuming with anybody as I am with the EFL at the moment."
