Nottingham Forest boss explains Harry Arter's absence against Luton Town

Nottingham Forest midfielder Harry Arter is a doubt for the weekend, having missed Wednesday night’s 1-1 draw at Luton Town.

The summer signing picked up an ankle injury in the build-up to the clash at Kenilworth Road and was left out of the matchday squad.

Although boss Chris Hughton says the problem is “minimal”, Arter may also miss Saturday’s trip to Middlesbrough.

“He tweaked his ankle on Monday,” Hughton said.

“He came out to train on Tuesday and we thought he was going to be okay.

“And then it was quite clear that he wasn’t.

“It’s minimal, but whether he’ll be involved or available on Saturday, I don’t know.

“But it seems very minimal.”

The Reds made it four unbeaten against the Hatters, coming from behind for a third successive game.

Arter was replaced in the starting XI by Jack Colback, while Anthony Knockaert made his first start as Lewis Grabban missed out through a hip injury.

Glen Rea put  the hosts in front in the first half and then ended up being credited with the leveller when under pressure from Ryan Yates, in the 64th minute.

Forest were down to 10 men at that point, after Nicholas Ioannou was sent off just before the interval, but they showed character to claim a point.
