Nottingham Forest boosted by midfielder's return as Belgian striker is linked

Injury update

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi has provided an update on his injured players - and there are mixed fortunes.

Ryan Yates is in contention to make his first appearance of the season on Sunday, having undergone knee surgery in the summer.

But Samba Sow (hamstring), Alfa Semedo (back) and Michael Dawson (calf) are all ruled out of the trip to the DW Stadium as the Reds look to make it 11 Championship games unbeaten.

Both are understood to have already been working at the club for some time before their appointments were confirmed, with Modesto playing an important role in the arrival of Lamouchi and working closely with him since.

“It is good for the club. They are working for the future,” Lamouchi said.

The Nottingham Forest midfielder hadn’t scored for three years before notching the winner against Barnsley last month, and then made it two in two as the Reds overcame Brentford before the international break.

Watson, who returns to the club where he reached hero status for scoring the winning goal in the FA Cup final against Manchester City in 2013, says he’s looking forward to going back to the DW Stadium, but will show respect for his old club, should he find the net.
