Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Sporting midfielder Bruno Paz.
According to reports in Portugal, the Reds are one of three Championship clubs interested in the 22-year-old with Reading and Brentford credited with an interest too.
Portuguese media outlet Record, via Sport Witness, claim Sporting know about the interest from the English clubs and are prepared to sanction a departure for Paz.
However, they will demand at least €3 million and would want to retain a 30% sell-on clause.
Fortaleza of Brazil have also been mentioned but they would only be prepared to do a loan deal, putting them behind Forest and their Championship rivals in the pecking order.
Paz is on the recovery from a serious knee injury and has turned out for Sporting's reserves and Under-23 sides as he eyes a comeback.
The defensive midfielder, who can also fill in at right-back, has only made one senior outing for Sporting and that was as far back as December 2018.
He is under contract for another three years having inked an extension in February last year.
Forest have had a lot of success with foreign imports under current boss Sabri Lamouchi.
Paz's compatriots Tiago Silva and Yuri Ribeiro have been excellent this season with the Reds using the European market to their advantage.
Brice Samba and Samba Sow also came in last summer and have helped Lamouchi's side to fifth place in the Championship.
