Nottingham Forest assistant boss Roy Keane does not hold back with comments on Manchester United

Nottingham Forest assistant manager Roy Keane has had his ruthless say on the attitude of the Manchester United squad.

United have received criticism in recent weeks, after a run of six defeats in their last eight matches in all competitions.

During that time the Red Devils have been knocked out of the FA Cup by Wolves and the Champions League at the hands of Barcelona.

The latest of those defeats was a 4-0 thrashing by Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, which resulted in manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer apologising to the club’s supporters.

Ex-Nottingham Forest star allegedly involved in Chelsea brawl which saw Maurizio Sarri charged by FA

Keane was working as a pundit for Sky Sports’ coverage of United’s Premier League clash against rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening.

The former Forest and Red Devils midfielder was discussing the current state of Manchester United, and he didn’t hold back in his comments.

"These are the same players who threw (Jose) Mourinho under the bus and they will do exactly the same to Ole,” Keane told Sky Sports.

He added: "Leopards don't change their spots. There's too many bluffers at this club to get United back to the very top.

"Even the point that we're talking about Man United trying to finish fourth tells you how the standards have dropped over the last few years - both on and off the pitch.

"It's a big test for Ole as well of course."

Keane continued: "It's not up to the manager to motivate the players, the players have to motivate themselves.

"You've got to be up for every game at Manchester United and the fact that Ole's got to discuss it after the game and again the following few days about his players not being up for a game of football, he must be hugely embarrassed."

He went on to say he 'would not believe a word' star midfielder Paul Pogba said.
