'New timescales' - Latest on Nottingham Forest's City Ground redevelopment project

Nottingham Forest have taken the decision to put back their plans to redevelop the City Ground “due to delays in the planning process”.

Work had been due to start this summer, once the 2019/20 season had been completed, with phase one of the project seeing the Peter Taylor Stand rebuilt to an increased capacity of 10,000.

However, a planning application has yet to be given the green light, with the club altering the timescale as a result.

The Reds say they are still “fully committed to the project”, but are now allowing season card holders in the Peter Taylor Stand to renew their seats for 2020/21.

Under the original plans, those fans would have had to relocate during the building work - hence Forest’s previous decision to allow those supporters in the other three stands to renew their season cards first.

A statement from the club on Tuesday said: “Nottingham Forest can confirm that season card holders in the Peter Taylor Stand can renew their seat from this Wednesday.

“The club had planned that major construction work would begin in May this year, however due to delays in the planning process the club is not in a position to start the development at the end of the current season.

“As a result the club has made the decision to allow season card holders in the Peter Taylor Stand the chance to renew their seat.

“The club remains fully committed to the project and will continue to work towards securing all the relevant approvals, and is evaluating the options for the new timescales in order to minimise disruption for supporters.

“The renewal period for season card holders in the Peter Taylor Stand will be open from 10am on Wednesday 18th March and remain open until Friday 17th April.”
