Nottingham Forest announce date for FA Cup tie with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Nottingham Forest have announced the date for their FA Cup clash with Premier League Chelsea.

Sabri Lamouchi’s Reds will head to Stamford Bridge for a third successive season, after being drawn against the Blues in the third round of the competition.

And the tie is set to take place on Sunday, January 5 (kick-off 2.01pm).

The club have said: “The tie will be played on the Sunday after being selected for overseas broadcast and also for BBC extended match highlights, with kick-off taking place one minute later at 2.01pm to encourage fans to ‘Take A Minute’ to think about looking after their mental health, as part of the Heads Up campaign.

“Ticket information for this fixture will be confirmed in due course.”

Forest were knocked out of the FA Cup by Chelsea last term, being beaten 2-0 in what proved to be Aitor Karanka’s last game in charge.

The campaign before that, they were toppled 5-1 in the capital in the Carabao Cup, with Tendayi Darikwa scoring a late consolation for the visitors.

It is not only the Reds who have changed manager since the last time the two teams met, with Frank Lampard at the helm of his old club, having left Derby County in the summer.
