Nottingham Forest and Tottenham linked star 'excited' by transfer reports

Nottingham Forest and Tottenham-linked striker Adama Bojang is "excited" about reports linking him with a move to English football.

The 18-year-old currently plays for Gambian side Steve Biko FC, but his performances in the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations last month could earn him an overseas move. According to the Daily Mail, Forest and Tottenham have sent scouts to watch the teenager, with both making "enquiries" to his club over a possible move.

He scored a hat-trick as he helped Gambia into the semi-final of the competition with a 5-0 win over South Sudan before scoring the only goal of the game in his country's semi-final over Nigeria, striking in the seventh minute. Gambia then lost 2-0 to Senegal in the final.

And the teenager has opened up on reports linking him with a move to the English game, telling BBC Sport Africa: “I’ve heard about the news (the rumours). And I am excited about it.

“It boosts my morale. I’m focusing more on (gaining) consistency which motivates me a lot, because seeing such clubs following you is a great feeling. Through consistency, it will make them hungrier (to sign) me.”

The two English sides are also said to have competition from Dutch giants Ajax and French side Marseille, who have also made their interest known. It means that Forest could face a lot of competition should they wish to bring the striker to the City Ground in the summer transfer window.
