Nottingham Forest and Leeds United interest in winger 'fades'

Nottingham Forest's interest in reported target Callum O'Dowda is 'fading'.

According to BristolLive, Forest are no longer a possible suitor for the Bristol City winger because of Martin O'Neill's departure in June.

O'Neill was sacked and replaced immediately by Sabri Lamouchi, who has brought in five players as he revamps his squad for a tilt at promotion to the Premier League.

Republic of Ireland international O'Dowda enjoyed his time under the management of O'Neill with his country, but now it looks as though a move to Forest will not happen because the former Leicester City and Aston Villa manager is no longer in the hotseat at the City Ground.

O'Dowda is said to be running out of options, with Fulham, Leeds United and now Forest withdrawing their interest in the 24-year-old.

It was reported last week that Fulham baulked at Lee Johnson's £8m valuation of O'Dowda, while Fulham are said to be interested in doing a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to include wingers in any sale of Ryan Sessegnon to Mauricio Pochettino's side.

Leeds' move for Helder Costa appears to have ruled them out of a move for O'Dowda, with contract talks with the Ashton Gate side said to have stalled.

Forest have signed Albert Adomah and Sammy Ameobi to bolster their forward ranks.
