Nottingham Forest aiming to pip Derby County to Turkish striker - report

Nottingham Forest are set to rival Derby County for in-demand Turkish striker Serdar Dursun, according to a report.

The Daily Mirror claims the Reds are ready to launch a last-ditch bid to sign Dursun, who scored 19 goals for Bundesliga 2 side Darmstadt last season.

The 28-year-old, who has been valued at around 1million euros, has been linked with Derby for a while now, but time is running out for any deal to be completed.

The German transfer window closes at 5pm today, with the English window shutting six hours later at 11pm.

According to German publication Bild last night, Dursun has travelled with the Darmstadt squad for tonight’s Bundesliga 2 clash away to Nuremberg.

Dursun, who is yet to score in three appearances this season, wants another strong campaign as he looks to secure a spot in his country’s squad for next year’s European Championships.
