Defender Matty Cash has named his perfect Nottingham Forest five-a-side team - and the line-up may come as something of a surprise.
The right-back opted against including himself and there was no space for some of those who have helped mount a promotion push under Sabri Lamouchi this season, before the enforced break due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, Cash plumped for a few names from the past as he put together what he thought was a “good team”.
Answering questions from fans which had been submitted to the club’s social media channels, the Nigel Doughty Academy product was asked to pick a five-a-side squad based on players he had played with and against.
Summer signing Brice Samba got the nod, as did veteran defender Michael Dawson, from the current Reds dressing room.
And Cash also chose three former Forest stars - Henri Lansbury, David Vaughan and Britt Assombalonga.
“In goal, I’d go with Brice,” said the 22-year-old.
“At the back, I’d have Michael Dawson - a leader, going ‘you get there’ and ‘you do that’.
“This isn’t including me! I don’t know if I’d have me anyway!
“This is nothing against our players because I’d have Wozza (Joe Worrall) and Figgy (Tobias Figueiredo), definitely!
“Up front, I’d have Britt Assombalonga - a goal scorer and a poacher.
“In midfield, I’d have Lansbury and David Vaughan holding.
“That’s a good team.
“Vaughany could come in and cover. I used to love Vaughany doing that.
“That would be my five-a-side team.”
