Nottingham Forest ace Lewis Grabban makes key decision amid transfer interest

Striker Lewis Grabban is understood to be set to stay at Nottingham Forest, despite being targeted by former Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi.

Lamouchi, now in charge at Qatari side Al Duhail, had been keen to link up again with the front man after recently being appointed, following his dismissal by the Reds.

Grabban was also understood to be interested in the move, ahead of today’s transfer deadline in Qatar.

But it is understood he has now agreed to remain at the City Ground, following talks with Forest.

Grabban has made eight appearances so far this season, though has yet to find the back of the net after a 20-goal haul last term.

It is believed the club were always keen to hang on to him, as they look to get back to challenging at the top end of the table under new manager Chris Hughton.

The 32-year-old started up front with Lyle Taylor in Friday night’s 1-1 draw at home to arch-rivals Derby County, but was withdrawn at half-time due to a hip problem.

“He just felt his hip. It was a little bit sore,” Hughton said.

“We could have taken a risk, but I think it was the right decision.”
