Nottingham Forest ace Joe Lolley is one of football's good guys - and his classy new gesture proves it

Nottingham Forest ace Joe Lolley is continuing to do his bit to help those in need during the coronavirus crisis.

The Reds winger has been thanked for his “incredibly kind gesture” as he made a donation to the city’s Robin Hood Fund.

Lolley donated £1,500 to the initiative which has been set up to help some of the most vulnerable people in the area in this difficult time.

The official Robin Hood Fund Twitter account posted: “Ain’t nobody, like Joe Lolley. Thank you so much @JLolley 23, this is an incredibly kind gesture and it will make such a massive difference to those most in need in Nottingham right now. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Lolley has previously made a £750 donation to a campaign to ensure hot meals are provided for front-line NHS staff at the Countess of Chester hospital.

The council-backed Robin Hood Fund was set up to help vital local projects which support people in need during the ongoing pandemic.

The Fund say money raised through online donations will help “the most vulnerable people during this crisis and will be administered by the city council and delivered by people and organisations across the city that can help the most vulnerable”.

Forest have also been doing plenty of community work while football is suspended, most recently donating 500 Easter eggs to NHS staff at the QMC and City Hospital.
