Nottingham Forest ace could miss big chunk of pre-season

Nottingham Forest's Zimbabwe international Tendayi Darikwa has helped his country qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.

The Nottingham-born right-back, who qualifies for Zimbabwe through his father, started in their decisive 2-0 win over Congo, and has become a regular for the Warriors in defence.

Victory in their final qualification game saw them top Group G.

The result could signal bad news for the Reds, however, with the tournament scheduled to take place late in the summer, meaning Darikwa could miss a big chunk of pre-season training at the City Ground.

Should Darikwa's Zimbabwe go all the way to the final, he will not return to training at Nigel Doughty Academy until late July.
