Nottingham food lovers are recreating restaurant dishes at home including McDonald's, Annie's Burger Shack and Filthy Vegan

If you eat out regularly you're bound to be missing your favourite restaurant dishes after more than two weeks in lockdown... it is two weeks isn't it even though it feels like months?

What wouldn't you give for Bar Iberico's crispy chicken or a juicy burger from Annie's Burger Shack for dinner?

While some food lovers are consoling themselves drooling over photographs on social media from their favourite eating spots others are having a stab at recreating their favourite scoff in the kitchen at home.

And there's some pretty impressive results:

Maccy D fans, pining for fast food, are attempting replica McDonald's - which look just as good as the real thing, some of them even better.

Pete Brooksbank concocted this great looking double sausage and egg McMuffin.

Mums and dads across Notts have also been busy trying to make their little ones happy with their take on a Happy Meal.

Amongst them is Charlotte Repton, who has taken full ownership, turning McDonald's into MumDonald's at her home, complete with boxes and fries' bags with the famous golden arches.

Unable to get to gastropub The Tailor's Arms, in Wilford, for Sunday lunch Chris Dancer posted a cracking roast beef dinner on Instagram, saying: "The Tailor's Arms might be closed but it didn't get in the way of our Sunday roast. Thanks to Harkers Farm Shop for a fabulous rolled forerib of beef.

"Looking forward to returning to our local when it reopens, I'll be ready for a break from chef duties by then."

Missing Annie's Burger Shack? Alan Severn is and knowing it could be months before the restaurant, in Broadway, re-opens, there's only one thing for it. All it takes is some peanut butter and jam and hey presto! A homemade Elvis burger.

"When you're hankering for an Elvis Burger but Annie's is closed due to coronavirus lockdown it's time to concoct a couple of your own," said Alan.

Lauren Clark, who blogs as Notts on Toast, shared this photo of a mouth-watering katsu chicken curry, made by her husband Will.

Inspired by Asian street food trader Homeboys, a permanent fixture at Nottingham Street Food, it looks the part, with crispy fried chicken, katsu sauce, with pickle, spring onion, and rice.

Craving a Filthy Vegan kebab - recently named one of the top ten in the UK by Peta - Will Flirt for Food blogger Kaylea Frost set about making a copycat version - and it's not bad at all.

The Filthy Vegan, based at Kings Walk Kitchen in the city centre, is still delivering at weekends but Kaylea has temporarily left her home in Nottingham to return stay at her parent's house in Peterborough making it impossible to get her hands on the real deal.

Copper Cogs in Long Eaton is popular for coffee, cocktails, cake and other tasty bites.

Marie Hughes has been missing the cafe bar, in Market Place, so much during lockdown that she had a go at making one of the Greek salads she enjoys eating there, with olives, feta cheese, hummus, tomatoes and green leaves.

Remember Saturday nights when you could go to your favourite Indian restaurant? It seems so long ago now.

Craving something spicy Susan Hart came up with her own veggie curry, rice and bread. The only downside is the washing up.
