Nottingham Cornerhouse restaurant issues statement after some meat dishes are scrapped from menus

A restaurant in the city centre has issued a statement explaining how the supply chain issues have affected the industry.

It comes after last week when huge queues were seen snaking around petrol stations in Nottinghamshire with many searching for petrol.

It has also been reported that a food distribution business that supplies Asda and Sainsbury's and employs 1,000 people could go into administration.

It has been suggested that both sectors would be affected due to ongoing issues with driver shortages.

Now, a spokesperson for Bella Italia restaurant in Forman street said that a number of meat dishes had been temporarily scrapped from menus due to "strong demand and well-documented supply chain issues".

However, the popular venue have reassured customers that a wide range of meat and meat-free dishes are still on offer.

A spokesperson for Bella Italia said: “Our Cornerhouse restaurant did not run out of meat over the weekend.

"Due to strong demand, and the well-documented supply chain issues currently affecting the hospitality and retail sectors, some dishes may have been temporarily unavailable, however we’d like to reassure customers that we continue to offer a wide range of meat, and meat-free, dishes from our menu.”
