Nottingham College sites up for sale attracting 'significant interest' from developers

Three Nottingham College campus buildings up for sale have been attracting "significant interest" from developers.

FHP Property Consultants was instructed to sell the college's 19-acre former Central College site in Farnborough Road Clifton, the two-acre Clarendon College site off Mansfield Road, and the 3.73-acre former Broxtowe College site on Chilwell High Road.

It says religious groups, retailers, house builders, student developers, sports clubs, education and office occupiers have all shown interest in the sites.

FHP has now called for a 'best bids' process for for October 15.

The sales of these buildings follows the merger of Central College and New College Nottingham in June in 2017.

John Proctor of FHP, who leads on the project, said: “We have been marketing the three sites over the summer generating significant interest from a whole variety of sectors from religious groups to retailers, house builders to student developers, from amateur to professional sports clubs, as well as education and office occupiers and so it was felt a “best bids” scenario on an “unconditional basis” in terms of planning was the way forward.”

David Hargreaves of FHP added: “The 19.3 acres at Clifton is available immediately, whilst Clarendon and Beeston will become vacant in September/October 2020 when the new £58million Nottingham College City Hub opens next to the intu Broadmarsh shopping centre and Lace Market district.”

FHP Property Consultants and Eversheds Sutherland are advising Nottingham College on the sales.

Work is on track for the £58 million Nottingham College site to open in 2020 after construction began in June 2018.
