Nottingham City Transport bus diversions as road closes for 4 weeks

Bus services are being diverted as a Nottinghamshire road closed for around a month on Wednesday (January 6).

Chippenham Road between Bestwood and Daybrook, near Mansfield Road, has been closed for approximately four weeks for resurfacing works.

This means Nottingham City Transport's Turquoise 79/A and Purple 88 will have to divert in both directions.

No stops on Chippenham Road will be served, the bus company confirmed.

A tweet from Nottingham City Transport said: "We’ve received confirmation tonight that Chippenham Road will close from January 6 for approx. four weeks for resurfacing works.

"During the closure, Turquoise 79/A and Purple 88 will divert via Oxclose Lane in both directions. No stops on Chippenham Road will be served."

Elsewhere, a busy Nottinghamshire road is to close overnight for two nights in January for vital level crossing works.

Victoria Road, in Netherfield/Carlton, will be closed 20 metres either side of the level crossing later this month for the works.

Works will be carried out overnight to minimise disruption.

The road will be closed from 11pm on Tuesday, January 19 until 6am on Wednesday, January 20.

It will then be closed from 11pm on January 20 until 6am on January 21.

There is a temporary ban of all traffic from passing, including pedestrians, emergency services and gritters.
