Nottingham City Transport announces bus diversions during overnight closures on Trent Bridge

A number of bus services are set to be affected by overnight road closures on Trent Bridge and Loughbrough Road during roadworks.

Nottingham City Transport has announced its diversions during the resurfacing works by Nottinghamshire County Council on part of the A60, including Trent Bridge and Loughborough Road.

Navy and Green Line services will need to be diverted from Monday, July 15 until Thursday August 1, between 7pm and 5am each night.

No diversions will take place on July 18, 24 or 27 whilst T20 cricket matches take place at Trent Bridge.

The following services will be affected: 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, N4 & N6.

There will be no direct service from The Meadows, Trent Bridge, County Hall or Loughborough Road towards Clifton, Gotham, East Leake or Loughborough on South Notts 1.

Most buses away from the city will divert via Cattle Market Road and Lady Bay Bridge, except South Notts 1 and N4 which will divert via Queens Drive and Clifton Bridge.

No buses can serve Trent Bridge, Victoria Embankment, Cricket Ground or County Hall stops towards Clifton, West Bridgford or Ruddington.

Stops towards the city on 1, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, N4 are generally served as normal, except "Cricket Ground" on Bridgford Road which will be missed.

There will be no evening service on Bathley Street or Wilford Grove on Green 11 after 7pm - customers need to walk to Meadows Way or Bridgeway Centre for other services.

Delays are expected across these routes because diversion routes are longer and will take more time to follow - additional buses will be on standby to keep delays to a minimum.

Pedestrian walking routes and crossings will be affected, with signs in place to direct pedestrians to the nearest safe crossing.

Via East Midlands is carrying out the work on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council.

Drivers heading into the city on Loughborough Road (A60), past County Hall, will also be unable to turn right onto Bridgford Road and Radcliffe Road where the Trent Bridge cricket ground is.

The diversion route is in blue, the lane closures are highlighted in red (Via East Midlands)

That lane closure have been in place since June 23 and will continue until 5pm on Sunday, August 25.

The right turn lanes are having new traffic signals installed.

There will be lane closures off-peak to allow for safe working areas, but all lanes should be open during peak hours, according to Via who are carrying out the work.

Full details of the diversions are available online at www.nctx.co.uk/trentbridgeclosure, with information also posted at affected bus stops.
