After three weeks of intense work a new Nottingham nightspot has opened in the former premises of Bla Bla Bar.
The building (opposite the Malt Cross, in St James's Street) was completely gutted last month, with even its famous 'Daisy' the bull statue being given the elbow, to make way for Icon: Bar and Lounge.
Opening for the first time at 8pm last night (May 3) owners have organised a weekend-long party to celebrate with performance acts, a magician and DJs.
Teasers in the run up to its opening included pictures of the premises being stripped bare as well as snaps of a shiny new gold and black bar.
In a nod to the venue's name, murals of iconic stars such as Marilyn Monroe and David Bowie have been painted on the walls (see below).
A post on the bar's official Facebook page said: "One of the most satisfying experiences for us was being able to rip out literally everything to do with this bar, giving us no restrictions as to what we can do with the design."
