Nottingham Cider Festival to feature Somerset scrumpy legends The Wurzels

The organisers of Arboretum Sunsets have confirmed that the delay of lockdown easing will not affect this summer's events.

New acts have been announced for 11-week spectacular with music, food and drink, comedy and wellbeing events in Nottingham's Arboretum park including a cider festival featuring Somerset scrumpy legends the Wurzels on September 4.

The world’s leading Beatles tribute band The Bootleg Beatles are set to perform on July 31 and sea-shanty social media stars and traditional folk band The Longest Johns will appear on August 15.

Events prior to the July 19 opening date announced by the government yesterday, will go ahead socially distanced, with Covid safety measures in place at the pop-up venue, the Arboretum Garden Bar and Bandstand.

Two container bars and rotating street food vendors will be centred around the park’s iconic bandstand. The site has previously hosted successful events under similar restrictions, such as Frank Turner’s two sold-out, socially distanced shows in September last year.

Covid safety measures include 2m social distancing across all areas of the site, restricted capacity seating, one way entry and exit, track and trace, and contactless payment for food and drink.

The fun kicks off with an opening launch party on Friday June 25, with free entry, followed by music from Ferocious Dog on June 26.

Arboretum Sunsets' event booker Ben Ryles said: “Now more than ever, giving people the chance to see some live music and experience some fantastic events is really important.

"We’re thrilled that we can go ahead with our entire summer event schedule as planned and want to reassure people they can book with confidence. We’re looking forward to seeing some incredible events in a beautiful setting and still have lots of exciting things to announce.”

Tickets can be purchased from alttickets.com

There will be a small restoration levy on all tickets (50p for tickets over £10, 25p on tickets up to £10) which will go towards improving the park.
