Nottingham Christmas Market statement issued as Plan B restrictions announced

Nottingham's Christmas market will not be impacted by the introduction of Plan B restrictions, the council have confirmed.

Nottingham City Council said that the event at Old Market Square will go ahead as usual despite a raft of new measures being introduced by the government yesterday.

The changes include covid passports for the likes of football stadiums, nightclubs and other venues in which large amounts of people gather.

A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said: "There will be no impact of Government’s Plan B on festive markets like ours in Nottingham.

"Our guidance remains consistent with what we’ve said from the outset. Wear a face covering if you can’t socially distance. Take a lateral flow test before attending any event this Christmas where you will be at ‘higher risk’ of Covid.

They added: "Don’t attend any events if you have Covid-like symptoms. Get a PCR test."
