Nottingham Caribbean Carnival 2019 - date, times, tickets, prices, forbidden items and everything else you need to know

There may be a few changes to this year's Nottingham Carnival but do not fear, the aroma of jerk chicken, the sound of steel drums and the sight of big, bright and beautifully crafted costumes are still a guarantee.

Taking place on Victoria Embankment on Sunday, August 18, the free parade will be followed by huge party with five music zones, family amusements and a licensed bar.

Unlike previous years, revellers will not be able to buy advance discounted tickets to next month's event but will need to purchase them on the day, at the gate. There will be no family saver tickets but toddlers will once again be admitted for free.
