Nottingham cafe set to re-open tomorrow after heavy rain brings the roof down

An award-winning Nottingham cafe has had to temporarily close after torrential rain brought the roof down.

Just days after re-opening following a summer break, the owners of No.12 Hounds Gate have had to shut up shop while builders fix the damage to the kitchen roof caused by Friday's heavy downpour.

The vegetarian cafe, winner of the best contemporary cafe in the UK, has been closed since Saturday but hopes to welcome back customers tomorrow (Wednesday August 21).

Owners Lauren Nally and Ritchie Stainsby said on their Facebook page: "We have our amazing builders round today trying to resolve this.

"They have been amazing and dropped everything for us to try and get us up and running again. So a huge thank you to them.

"Our sincerest apologies on being closed for the past few days but unfortunately this is something out of our control. We are working as fast as we can to get No.12 back to normal so please bare with us."
