Less than a year since it opened, the team behind Brexit Burger have confirmed it has closed. The shutters are down and signs removed from the burger joint in Alfreton Road.
Despite the name, it was not opened as a political statement but, rather, as a talking point. The business is based between the former Clarence Hotel and Carmangeria Romaneasca shop.
While all the signs have been removed, the shop is still painted a vivid blue shade. Romanian couple, Florin Radu and Mara Marin, opened the restaurant in October 2021.

It offered a range of takeaway options including burgers, pizza and chicken. Florin also owns and manages a grocery store which is across from the takeaway. There were a number of European and international dishes on the menu.
They included lamb curry, chicken tikka, and stir-fries. The pizzas also included spicy diavola, quattro formaggi, tuna and margherita.
