Nottingham Bonfire Night road closures confirmed for Forest Recreation Ground fireworks party

More than 40,000 people are expected to attend the city's biggest free fireworks display and bonfire at Nottingham's Forest Recreation Ground next week.

Taking place on Tuesday, November 5, the evening commemorates the anniversary of Guy Fawkes’ foiled gunpowder plot and includes fairground rides, food stalls and a roaring bonfire.

As always there will be two displays with the kiddies' smaller one scheduled to start at 7.15pm and the main fireworks extravaganza at 9pm.

The bonfire will be lit at 7.45pm, so there's plenty of time to have a walk around the fairground and food stalls which will be open between 5.30pm and 10.30pm.

Traffic restrictions will be in place on Gregory Boulevard preventing motorists from turning right in and out of Burford Road, Russell Road, Leslie Road, Premier Road and Foxhall Road.

Moderate delays are expected within the area.

There will be no on-site parking except for Blue Badge holders, but Nottingham Express Transit has put on extra trams to cope with increased demand.
