Nottingham Bierkeller closes for a second time due to 'power interruption'

Bierkeller in Nottingham has been forced to close suddenly due to a "significant power interruption".

The popular venue, located on Friar Lane, announced the news to its customers on Thursday, December 9.

This is not the first time this has happened recently, with the bar also being shut throughout Monday, November 8, due to a power cut.

It's not yet known when it will reopen again after its latest power outage.

In a statement on its website, the company said: "We are sad to inform you that Bierkeller will be closed due to a significant power interruption.

"We will keep you updated on when we will reopen. Thank you for your patience."

Some customers are reporting on social media that their Christmas parties planned for Saturday, December 11 have been cancelled as a result of the problems.

The German chain, which also operates branches in Sheffield, Liverpool and Manchester, usually opens from 12pm until late.
